Adriana Lima

 We’re taking it back to the old school with our model of the week Adriana Lima. Lima is a Brazilian-born model and has been a Victoria’s Secret Angel since 2000. Most notably, she was the spokesmodel for Maybelline from 2003 to 2009.

 She began her modeling career as favor for a friend. She had previously won many pageants in elementary school.

 Know this, a friend asked her to enter a modeling contest with her because she did not want to do it alone. So they both send out their photos, and to Lima’s surprise, she had won.

 From there, she began working on her portfolio until she came in contact with Victoria’s Secret in 1999.

 She was immediately contracted in 2000 as an Angel. Because of her journey, she sits on Forbes as the fourth highest paid model making $7.3 million a year.
